The National Institutes of Health patient recruitment center campaign, “Do you or your child have sickle cell disease?” aimed to recruit African Americans and Hispanics into sickle cell disease clinical trials. This effort reached thousands through educational workshops, community centers, health clinics, faith groups, local businesses, and the media. The campaign delivered more than 60 million audience impressions through radio interviews and on-air mentions during news segments.
