Adam Ungson
Communications Manager

Adam provides communications and marketing support for such clients as the CDC, Virginia Department of Health, American Lung Association, and Amerigroup/Anthem. He has over a decade of experience researching and developing health communications resources for African Americans, Latinos, and other underserved populations. He leads HMA’s copyediting team to ensure plain language, style guidelines, and overall quality control for client deliverables.

Most recently, Adam researched, drafted, and reviewed COVID-19 and flu vaccination content for American Lung Association educational toolkits that target indigenous populations, Asian Americans, employers, and older adults. He manages marketing efforts for the podcast Aging Matters, which focuses on issues that affect older adults, caregivers, and families.

Previously, he worked at Kauffman & Associates, Inc., an American Indian-owned company, where he supported public health campaigns. Adam earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism, with a concentration in public relations, from the University of Oregon.

Adam enjoys exploring Washington, D.C., by trying new foods, attending concerts, and teaching spinning classes.
